Abstract We analyze the spectrum of a stacked pulse with the technique of linearly chirped Gaussian pulse stacking. Our results show that there are modulation structures in the spectrum of the stacked pulse. The modulation frequencies are discussed in detail. By applying spectral analysis, we find that the intensity fluctuation cannot be smoothed by introducing an optical amplitude filter.
